Brian Finn AO


Brian Finn has been Chairman of the Chesterfield Australia Board since 2011.

Brian’s business experience is vast and varied in the areas of Marketing, Software Development and General Management with IBM for 35 years. He was Chief Executive of IBM Australia from 1980 to 1993 and Chairman from 1991 to 1998. Brian has held board positions with leading Australian public companies including Telstra, AXA Asia Pacific Holdings.

In 1990 Brian was made an Officer in the Order of Australia for services to Business, Industry and Education. He has been awarded Honorary Doctorates from University of Western Sydney, Griffith University and Wollongong University.

Deborah Pennefather

Non Executive Director

Deborah Pennefather is the only daughter of Chesterfield Australia founder, Anthony Pennefather and has held a position as Non Executive Director on the Board since 2009.

Deborah has built a successful career in the hospitality and catering industries following extensive study assignments in London and Paris. Deborah has held Senior Management positions as Head Chef, Operations Manager and Executive Caterer locally and internationally.

Deborah has formal qualifications and business experience in property development in Sydney, to which she applies her extensive knowledge and passion of Interior and Exterior Design.

Campbell Pennefather

Non Executive Director

Campbell Pennefather is the only son of Chesterfield Australia founder, Anthony Pennefather and has held a position as Non Executive Director on the Board for nearly two decades.

Campbell has had extensive experience in a variety of roles with the company since 1993.  He was Executive Chairman of the Chesterfield Australia Board from 2005 to 2009.

Campbell is also a qualified commercial pilot.

Theo Casimatis

Non Executive Director

Theo Casimatis joined the Board of Chesterfield Australia as a Non Executive Director in 2012 following the retirement of Judy Pennefather.

Theo was born in Wellington, New South Wales and moved to Sydney with his family when he completed primary school.

On completion of Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) at the University of New South Wales, Theo started practising as a lawyer in 1981, specialising in commercial law.

Theo first became a partner of a law firm in 1986. Currently Theo practises as a partner with Sparke Helmore Lawyers in Sydney which is a national firm with offices in most states of Australia and he has held Board positions with Sparke Helmore and other law firms.

Theo acts for other major organisations such as ANZ Bank, Caltex, Capcorp, Charter Hall, EG Funds Management, GPT and Westpac/St George Bank.

Jeff McDermid GAICD FCA

Non Executive Director

Jeff McDermid was appointed to the Board of Chesterfield Australia as a Non Executive Director in November 2013.

Jeff is a former partner of Ernst & Young and the founder of his own accounting firm that grew organically to be ranked 53rd in Australia by BRW. As part of a long-term succession plan, he retired from his firm in 2011 and embarked on his new career as a professional Company Director. His Board roles straddle the aged care, property development, human resources, tourism and technology industries.

Jeff brings to the Board of Chesterfield Australia a wide variety of skills and experience in financial management, corporate governance and strategic thinking.

Gary Bone

Chief Executive Office

With over 20 years in the automotive, transport and manufacturing industries, Gary joins us with significant experience in sales, marketing and general management. This experience has been gained both nationally and internationally.

As the Vice President for Volvo Trucks, Gary has a strong focus on increasing market share and profitability, developing new markets to increase revenue streams, managing all key OEM supplier arrangements as well as building and maintaining relationships with key customers.

With his family having a long history in farming and starting his working life as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic, Gary also has a good understanding of the challenges facing our rural customer base.
